During the Tokyo Game Show 2017, Bandai Namco presented the gameplay for its upcoming game Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet. The new Sword Art Online Game will take place on Gun Gale. Fans would know this place to be the second virtual reality game Kirito plays after the events of season 1. This would be a breath of fresh air for gamers since previews games in on Aincrad.
In a demonstration of Fatal Bullet, it was revealed that it would be a third-person shooter. The presentation also shows another fundamental change made by Bandai.
Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet Will No Longer Revolve Around Kirito
Just like what Bandai Namco did with their Dragon Ball games, Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet allows fans to step out of Kirito’s shadows. Dragon Ball Xenoverse garnered positive results which led to Xenoverse 2. With that said, Bandai also hopes to do the same for Sword Art Online.
Gamers’ customized characters will now be able to fight alongside their favorite characters such as Kirito and Asuna. Now, gamers can feel as if they have dived into the virtual reality game themselves.
According to reports, the game’s story will mostly be about your character. Make no mistake, Kirito, Asuna, and Sinon will still play a role on the story. What is different, however, is that the customized character will take most of the spotlight.
Along with the story focusing on the gamer’s customized player, Bandai also tells media that the choices made during the story also plays a big part on how it will unfold.
There has yet to be any news regarding the release date of Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet, but it should be expected to arrive early quarter of 2018. The game is confirmed to be playable in three platforms, namely Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
