Xiaomi released the first three bezel-less phone last year which made other smartphones reach for fewer bezel phones. Xiaomi has finally unveiled Mi Mix 2. This version is smaller and handier than the first Mix. It will first be available in China, starting from 3299 yuan (about $500) to 4699 yuan ($720).
The Mi Mix 2 is also bezel-less same to its predecessor but more manageable. It has 5.99-inches 2,160 x 1,080 pixels of resolution display with an 18:9.
The front camera is placed below the screen which is veiled because of the dark coating of its lens. At the top of the phone are the call speaker and the proximity sensor
Mi Mix 2 is housed by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, 6GB of RAM. There are other options for the storage which are 64, 128, and 256GB. Its battery size is 3,400mAh that can last up to a day and has QuickCharge 3.0.
The fingerprint scanner is still located at the back. The headphone jack is replaced by a Bluetooth version 5 for improved wireless audio. It has a Type-C USB port which is reversible.
What else does MI MIX 2 offer?
Sadly, it doesn’t have water resistance and only has a single-lens camera instead of a dual-camera. The rear camera has 12-megapixel camera comes with an optically stabilized f/2.0 lens and has large1.25μm pixels that capable of taking good photos and captures more light. Even if it isn’t as good as LG or Samsung’s cameras, it can record 4K at 30fps and 720 at 120fps.
It is MIUI 9 with better optimizations which are based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat. There is still no news if it will be updated to Android 8.0 Oreo.
There is also a special edition of the Mi Mix 2 having 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The camera and the fingerprint sensor is surrounded by18K gold coating and has ceramic on the entire body. This is claimed to be the first on any smartphones.
